“The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and covered up. Then in his joy he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.”
— Matthew 13:44
A Life in Christ
Reflections on faith, marriage and motherhood — written by me, a wife, a mother of four, and a women learning what it actually means to treasure the kingdom of God like this man.

Somewhere between the feedings, laundry, and chaos of motherhood, I have found my own faith quietly fading into the background. It’s not that I have lost my love for Jesus — I’ve just allowed Him to be buried under diapers, schedules, and endless to-do lists. This space is for sharing that journey: the struggles, the messiness, and the small steps back to the feet of Jesus.
Motherhood is amazing; however, I did not realize how overwhelming it would be as a wife to a law-enforcement officer who is also going to seminary, and as a mother. I know how easily life can pass by in a blur, where quiet moments with God seem impossible to come by. Yet in those small, mundane moments, a prayer — that wasn’t even a complete thought —reaches the ears of the Father.
I hope these words, experiences, and little glimpses into our chaotic life can encourage both of us to find Him again, no matter how deeply buried our faith might feel. “For I am confident of this very thing, that he who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ.” (Philippians 1:6)
From death to life, I am learning what it truly means to treasure the kingdom of God, and I invite you to join me.
